If you have a managed care insurance plan that requires you to have a referral authorization to receive services by a specialist or diagnostic procedure, you must get prior approval by your PCP.  If you have not seen or discussed this with your PCP, you will need to schedule an appointment before an authorization can be requested.  If you already have the approval, you can contact the referral department directly.  The referral department is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.  Please submit referral requests with a minimum of 72 hours prior to your appointment date.  If you have an urgent request, please call the office to speak with someone in the referral department.  They can be reached by calling 734.464.9540 - option 5.
